An interesting one! In the early days Fiona and I cut our teeth on traditional folk songs, starting at the wonderful (and sadly now extinct) Blackmore Folk Club, an event that took place in the wonky loft of The Bull Public house in Brentwood, Essex. Since then I have focussed on writing and performing my own songs and poems, and Fiona has focused on her own creative path of wonderful quilt making. A friend from those dim and distant Blackmore days, clearly unaware of me “going solo”, has asked us to perform at a new Folk Festival he has created in Suffolk; this will be on September 27th. .. It looks like being an odd gig! So far we seem to have a hybrid of my own “singer/songwriter” work; some of the obscure Americana songs that Fiona and I like, and a “blowing off the cobwebs” of a few acapella Trad Folksongs we used to sing, …if we can remember the words!! I’m not sure what they (or we) will make of it!
