Last week I performed a set as part of a 5 act showcase at Nyton Hall in Ely, Cambs, organised and hosted by the indefatigable Romy Gensale. It went very well; several people hearing me for the first time, and I myself also enjoying all the other acts.

Clive Hewes, the event photographer, who heard me for the first time, posted a very nice comment on his own site the following day. I copy it here with his permission, along with some of the photos he took that he has kindly allowed me to use:

“Every now and then I turn up to a music event and leave a changed person. One such event happened yesterday. The latest Sundown Session in Ely looked like it was going to be a lovely time of music, some familiar, some not. It was but it was also a massive revelation. Steve O’Kane blew me away with his quiet, almost unamplified, songs of love and life. Where has he been all my life? Anyone who can write the line, “You can Jekyll but you can’t Hyde.”, gets my vote every time. Check him out.”

I am editing the recordings made at Nyton Hall; hopefully some audio or video will be good enough to post here, for anyone who would like to see/hear some “live” examples of some of my songs, prior to the official recordings being made. Depending on quality these live versions might also become available to purchase/download.
